It looks like the uproar over the announcement that the fireworks just weren't in this budget this year worked. Niagara Falls Mayor Paul Dyster announced today that the fireworks happened as scheduled before.

According to WGRZ the Mayor said,

"thanks to a donation of $25,000 from KeyBank in partnership with the Niagara Police Athletic League, the "time-honored tradition will continue uninterrupted."

It was announced last week that the city council voted unanimously against Mayor's proposal to authorize $25,000 in funding for the annual fireworks display. This obviously was upsetting to the residents in the area the attend the fireworks every year.

It's great news for the area that they will be able to move forward and celebrate the 4th of July! You'll be able to view the fireworks in Hyde Park, they'll begin at dusk.
