Thursday night's game had a happy ending for the Sabres.

They fell behind early 2-0 against the Edmonton Oilers but they were able to come back to tie it with goals from Curtis Lazar and Sam Reinhart.

The game would go to overtime and that's when the Oilers were called with a penalty against Sabres forward Jack Eichel, but since Eichel had a clear path to the net, he was awarded a penalty shot.

Here's what happened.

The Sabres are now six points out of a wild card playoff spot. They also made two trades on Thursday night, which saw them trade away defenseman Marco Scandella and acquire forward Michael Frolik.
